Men's Volleyball
Volleyball clothing
A good outfit is essential for playing volleyball, but what characteristics should a good volleyball outfit have and what items does a volleyball outfit consist of? A volleyball outfit consists of a volleyball shirt, volleyball shorts, volleyball socks, and optionally a tracksuit. First and foremost, it is very important that the clothing provides enough room for movement! During volleyball, you may find yourself in awkward positions at times, so it is of course not intended for the clothing to hinder you in this. Additionally, you may sweat during volleyball, so the clothing should also be moisture-wicking and breathable. The moisture-wicking function ensures that perspiration can be transported to the outside and the breathable function ensures that enough fresh air can reach the body, keeping the body dry and at the right temperature!
Volleyball shoes
Volleyball is (mostly) an indoor sport, so it is important that volleyball shoes comply with the rules of the respective indoor court. Shoes with a black sole are often prohibited because they can cause marks on the floor. Additionally, shoes that are also worn outside are often not allowed in the indoor court, as they can bring in a lot of dirt unnecessarily dirty the court or even damage the floor.
Volleyball shoes should provide good grip and ample cushioning, these are the two most important characteristics of a volleyball shoe. With sufficient grip, you will notice that you do not slip and can push off well during a jump. The cushioning ensures that the impact of a landing is well absorbed, with good cushioning you mainly protect your knees and back.
Do you have weak ankles? Then opt for high volleyball shoes that also provide support around the ankles!
Volleyball protection
During volleyball, it is especially important to protect your knees and elbows, as these joints will be the first to hit the ground during a dive or fall. The protectors are often made of cushioning material and thus reduce the risk of knee and arm injuries!
