How do I choose my volleyball outfit?

When it comes to volleyball outfits, you can make a number of choices: for example, do you go for a shirt with short sleeves or with cap sleeves, do you choose tight shorts or loose shorts, and do you prefer high volleyball socks or do you prefer short socks?

For all these clothing items, it is important that they offer a lot of freedom of movement, that they wick away perspiration, and that they are breathable enough to let fresh air come to the body. The aspect of freedom of movement is of course aimed at allowing you to play volleyball undisturbed, without being hindered in your movements. The moisture-wicking and breathable properties are intended to keep the body dry and fresh, thus maintaining the body at the right temperature.

Are you on the bench for a while? Make sure to put on a tracksuit, this way the body stays warm and the muscles do not cool down quickly! It is also wise to wear a tracksuit during the warm-up, significantly reducing the risk of injuries.

Which volleyball shoes are suitable for me?

In volleyball, the game never stops and everything moves quickly, so it is important that you can move smoothly and swiftly! First and foremost, it is important to have sufficient grip, so you do not slide easily and can easily make sideways or forward movements. In addition, good cushioning is also essential! Good cushioning is able to absorb the biggest impact during a landing and thereby relieve the knee and back. Although you cannot see from the outside whether the cushioning is still intact, you can feel well when the cushioning loses its function. Many volleyball players therefore choose to buy new shoes every year.

Do you often suffer from ankle injuries? Then high volleyball shoes may be of interest to you! High volleyball shoes provide extra support around the ankles.

What protection should I wear during volleyball?

Although it is not mandatory to wear elbow protection or knee protection during volleyball, many volleyball players do so. This protection is often made of cushioning material and therefore prevents you from injuring your knees or elbows during a dive or a fall.
